"But the LORD was with Joseph in the prison and showed him his faithful love...." . (Genesis 39:21 NLT)
There will be times when God may allow you to be in a season of pain to prepare you for a coming season of breakthrough, divine promotion and increase. It is better to be in a place of PAIN, where you know God is with you and where you choose to keep pleasing Him and trusting in Him no matter what, than to be in a place of PLEASURE where you know God is not with you because you are displeasing the Lord with the kind of lifestyle you have..
Joseph was put in prison not because he did something wrong but because he stood for something that is right. He maintained his high moral ethics and his integrity before God by refusing to yield to the temptation of immorality from Potiphar's wife .
"No one here has more authority than I do. He has held back nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. HOW COULD I DO SUCH A WICKED THING. IT WOULD BE A GREAT SIN AGAINST GOD." (Genesis 39:9 NLT)
One mark of those whom God is preparing for divinely appointed rulership is overcoming temptations , maintaining integrity and faithfulness even when nobody sees you, when you are in a limited situation, with limited influence and resources. PASS THE TEST! ... IN MANY INSTANCES IN THE BIBLE, PAIN AND PROBLEMS CAN BECOME GOD'S PLATFORMS TO PREPARE SOMEONE FOR A DIVINE PROMOTION!
When you begin to interpret life in the light of your pain, you will just become a bitter person wallowing in self pity and destructive hatred. " Why did this happen to me? it's so unfair? Why did that person betray me? i don't deserve this." Let it go. Trust God's higher purposes. Allow God to search your heart. Forgive. When you learn to interpret your situations including your pains in life in the light of God's Sovereign purposes, you will become a BETTER person.
A person who learned how to trust God even in seasons of pain defined pain in a wonderful way:
How did Joseph overcame being bitter and negative? He trusted God's sovereign purposes and plans over his life. He was faithful in His covenant relationship with God. He was forgiving to those who did him wrong he maintained a positive, optimistic, and hopeful attitude under any circumstance.
You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people. (Genesis 50:20 NLT)
It is as though Joseph is saying, " MY LIFE , MY FUTURE AND DESTINY IS NOT IN THE HANDS OF PEOPLE OR CIRCUMSTANCES IN LIFE BUT IN THE HANDS OF MY GOD! "
Your pain may also be, in some instances, a consequence of a sin committed against God. In such cases, repent from it and seek for God's forgiveness and restoring grace ( Psalm 51). But if you are in pain for no wrong reasons you know you did, that could be a divine set up, a PLATFORM AND PREPARATION FOR GOD'S PROMOTION.
The LORD was with Joseph in the prison... Eventually, in God's own perfect time, GOD placed Joseph in the PALACE! (Genesis 41).
YOUR TURN WILL COME!
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. (Romans 8:28 NLT)
KEEP THE FAITH AND BE BLESSED TODAY!
